In a significant move on November 7, 2023, His Majesty King Charles III introduced the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill, popularly known as Martyn's Law.

Key highlights include enhanced security measures for publicly accessible locations (PALS) with over 100 people, addressing concerns through nuanced legislation.

The draft, published on May 2, 2023, marked the beginning of a transparent legislative journey, emphasising strategic objectives such as:

  • Public safety

  • Reduced impact of terrorist attacks

  • Clarified security responsibilities

  • Improved consistency in security considerations and outcomes
